The project explored how Industrial Design principles can be applied to sound systems, focusing on form, balance, and emotional connection. Using CAD modelling, 3D rendering, and material prototyping, I developed a design that feels both powerful and refined a piece that looks as good as it sounds.
At its core, the BMW Speaker is more than just an audio product, it’s an expression of motion, energy, and craftsmanship, captured in sound.
This design uses sharp, faceted geometry to create a bold, durable look inspired by tactical equipment. The matte black finish and integrated control buttons give it a sleek, functional feel, while the colour accents add quick visual orientation. Overall, it’s a compact, modern device that balances strong aesthetics with practical usability.
The BMW speaker was developed by drawing inspiration from BMW’s signature design language - sharp lines, aggressive geometry, and a sense of controlled power. The process began with analysing automotive forms, studying how BMW uses proportion, stance, and detailing to communicate performance. From there, I translated those cues into a compact speaker form, exploring sketches, 3D modelling, and material experiments to capture that same bold, engineered aesthetic. Throughout development, the focus remained on creating a product that feels premium, purposeful, and consistent with BMW’s identity, while still functioning as a clean, modern audio device.
The final concept brings BMW’s performance-driven design language into a compact, modern speaker. Angular surfaces, sharp edges, and a low, grounded stance echo the visual strength of BMW’s grills and body lines, while the matte finish and minimal controls keep the form clean and premium.
